Welcome to our research group!

Our research group is focused on the development and application of novel laser spectroscopy for forensic purposes, medical diagnostics, and fundamental biochemistry. Lednev’s laboratory has developed a universal method for nondestructive, automatic, confirmatory identification for all main body fluids based on Raman microspectroscopy and advanced statistics. We came with a novel two-step method for the fast detection and confirmatory identification of organic gunshot residue (OGSR). Lednev laboratory introduced several different vibrational spectroscopic methods for characterizing the structure and formation mechanism of amyloid fibrils associated with neurodegenerative diseases. Lednev’s laboratory used the combination of Raman hyperspectroscopy and advanced statistics for developing a noninvasive method for Alzheimer’s disease diagnostics based on blood serum analysis.
